Beach Clean Up Sponsorship

Can you believe itā€™s JULY already?! šŸ˜

Preparation is underway for our annual Beach Clean-up on Kā€™gari and this year we are coming back bigger than last year, hoping to double the number of volunteers and tripel the amount of rubbish we remove from the beach. if you havenā€™t already saved the date yet, lock it in, 25th ā€“ 27th October 2019.

This yearā€™s Beach Clean-up is supported by our good friends at Ocean Crusaders & Surfrider Foundation and will be an entirely FREE event. Seriously, itā€™s a FREE trip to Kā€™gari to do a good deed, eat some good food and be surrounded by incredible company, itā€™s the event of the year!

As passionate “planetiers” we have always been proud to support other local, independent businesses that not only provide great service to their customers but also to the planet, making their mark in this world and choosing ethical business solutions. Locals supporting locals is what itā€™s all about and we are super lucky to be surrounded by an incredible support team here on the Sunshine Coast.

Tewantin Market Garden, a local, family owned fruit and vegetable shop here on the Sunshine Coast is run by a team of epic individuals who support local farmers and producers from our local region. It is incredibly important to us as a company, that we buy local where possible and support local businesses where possible.

Ran by mother & daughter team, Monica & Ashleigh, who both have backgrounds in Horticulture & Nutrition and aim to personally select every item in-store to ensure the best produce is available for our community. Tewantin Market Garden is the place to go if you are after fresh, yummy, seasonal veggies.

ā€˜Food is medicineā€™. A philosophy they live by and a philosophy that we 100% stand by as a company and as individuals here at Drop Bear Adventures too. Monica and Ashleigh believe that ā€œinformation is key to ensuring customers understand the seasons and the availability of the food they consume.ā€ By supporting local growers, it also means that the food miles and environmental impact is immensely reduced.

Itā€™s a pricey good deed to host a Beach Clean-Up on Kā€™gari ā€“ Fraser Island. The logistics behind taking people to the worldā€™s largest sand island, the fuel, ferry costs, accommodation and food all starts to add up. With an aim for 50-60 volunteers for our beach clean-up this year, the ladies at Tewantin Market Garden have been kind enough to donate all the fruit and vegetables needed to feed our guests for the 3-day event. An unbelievable kind gesture that is helping us to carry on with hosting such events to keep Kā€™gari clean. The biggest thanks to the team for this incredibly heart-warming gift. You guys bloody rock and it’s a pleasure to continue working together alongside you and your company.
