THE BENEFITS OF CAMPING ON K’GARI AKA FRASER ISLAND
The benefits of camping, whether in the wilderness or even within the comforts of a more organised set up, are certainly endless! Returning your mind and body to its former natural habitat is great for the soul. And whilst our wilderness camp is rather comfortable on the whole, you have the chance to experience the beauty of camping on the world’s largest sand island, K’gari, with your travel companions by your side and appreciate the following benefits!
BEING AT ONE WITH THE NATURAL WORLD
There’s nothing more nurturing and refreshing than being at one with your natural surroundings. Scrap the concrete tower blocks, tarmac roads, and false green spaces and spend some quality time in nature. Noises will be magnified; you’ll hear bird song, insect noises, the rustle of the wind through the trees and the crash of waves against the shores. Spot the weird and wonderful creatures of our home, the big and the small are equally beautiful!
APPRECIATE GETTING BACK TO BASICS
Basic can be wonderful! That said the wilderness camp is ever gathering so called ‘mod-cons’ to ensure our guests a comfortable stay! Helping prep food amongst the conversations of fellow guests, cosying up in a tent and lying on the beach to star gaze the skies can be a perfect way to develop the most amazing travel friends.
TIME TO REFLECT
Camping and “roughing it” for a few days can honestly heal you! It allows your mind time to reflect. Perhaps you will think about adventures past, or indeed those adventures to come. Out of the hubbub of it all you can genuinely make plans, come up with ideas and if anything, allow your mind and body to relax!
With camping comes a little basic creativity. Games, singsongs, exploratory walks, learning and sharing of personal experiences are never far from camp. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to exercise your wilder side!
Possibly one of the greatest things in this day and age is the chance for you to escape and experience a digital detox. There’s no need for you to be at the beck and call of social notifications, emails and messages from family checking you are ok! Prior to camping put on your out of office, inform your close ones that you are off grid and be sure to just switch off!
