Facinating Fraser Island – #1

We are very lucky at this time of year to see one of mother natures most graceful creatures of sea wave to us they migrate from the ant-arctic to Platypus Bay (just a stone throw away from Fraser Island). Famously Whale season doesn’t start until October but keep those eyes peeled and you might just be lucky enough to see them. Indian Head is a great place to spot these beautiful Humpback Whales nearing the end of their enormous journey, weighing just over 1 tonne at birth they are a magnificent giant of the sea. If by chance you don’t get to see one you can always check out the 8/9 month old yearling at Eli Creek feeding Fraser Island’s wildlife, not so beautiful but incredible to see none the less…. see you soon
