A lot of travellers under estimate the distance between Fraser Island and the Whitsunday Islands so Mumma Bear is here to help you with that little bit of extra planning needed before you start your journey 🙂
BY CAR
It is around an 11 hour drive from Noosa to Airlie Beach and we recommend allowing at least 3 days to drive this distance and a reminder to stop, revive and survive. It’s really important that you plan lots of stops to give yourself a break from driving and also to enjoy the views on your way!
BY BUS
Greyhound is the most reliable, reasonably priced and often quickest public transport option to get to/from each location. It is best to do an overnight journey and try your best to sleep most of it. Its about 14 hours but is by far the easiest and cheapest option.
BY AIR
If you’d prefer to fly inbetween each destination then you can depart from either Hervey Bay or Brisbane and fly in to Prosperine. You’ll need to organise a shuttle bus as all of the airports are quite far out of town and it’s important to book this in advance if you can as flights can get very expensive.
