The Drop Bear team are big fans of volunteering for local beach clean ups around the Sunshine Coast. It’s a cause close to our hearts and every year we take part in a few different ones around the area. There are so many organisations committed to cleaning our beautiful beaches and so it’s easier now then ever to take part in a great day of team work with fellow eco-warriors. In recent years we have helped remove over 10 tonnes of polluting plastics and marine debris from our beaches with the support of local organisations and people from all over the world.

We loveeeee sponsoring and hosting our own Beach Clean Ups and feel so proud of the work we have done to help clean up our especially beautiful beaches here on the Sunshine and Fraser Coast. Our Beach Clean Up events on K’gari are all about good company, lots of laughs and appreciating nature.

Every year we take part in four Beach Clean Ups here on the Sunshine Coast. We also have our annual Beach Clean Up event on Fraser Island every October as well as volunteering at The Queensland 4WD Clubs in May with Ocean Crusaders. As well as this, we sponsor and volunteer at Surfrider Foundation bi-annual beach clean up on the Noosa North-Shore & are due to join Ocean Crusaders for their paddle against plastic events this year.

To find out more about the 4 Beach Clean Ups that are scheduled for this year then stay tuned for further information that will be popping up on our Facebook & Instagram pages. We hope to see you there you green-hearted legend.

you don’t have to attend an event to do you bit!

Follow us on Insta for tips on how to reduce, reuse and recycle everyday items. You can also take a rubbish bag with you when you go to the beach and pick up any bits you find, get your family involved and make a day of it, quit using single use plastics, buy reusable products like keepcups, water bottles and bamboo straws. Every little helps 🙂
