Most of our customers start their trip to Fraser Island from Noosa or Hervey Bay, but we usually pick up a few people in Rainbow Beach, too. If you are starting your Fraser Island trip from Rainbow Beach, you will probably need accommodation for at least one night before, as the pickup time is around 10 am.
You will miss out on the drive up from Noosa, along Rainbow Beach and past the coloured sands, but on the plus side, you get to have a lie in and join the rest of the group after a leisurely breakfast. You might want to start your Fraser Island tour from Rainbow Beach to do the famous Rainbow Beach skydive or just to spend a bit of time chilling on the beach. However, don’t be mistaken: Rainbow Beach is a very small town and the eponymous beach on its doorstep is the only attraction, so don’t plan too many days there unless you have loads of time to spare.
